What is AMA Scholarship
The AMA Arts Scholarship, also known as AMA+ (Art Major Asian Plus Scholarship), is a fully funded scholarship and a worldwide initiative led by the Korea National University of Arts (KARTs). It aims to train students to become global leaders in art education by developing talented artists and promoting Asian arts worldwide. This is achieved through the provision of full scholarship grants.
AMA Arts Scholarship is offered for international students to study their Bachelor’s degree or Master degree at the Korean National University of Arts.
AMA Arts Scholarship Benefits
AMA Arts Scholarship, aka AMA+ Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world that offer various benefits to its scholars.
- Airfare : The grantees will receive an airplane ticket between their country and Korea economy class, for entrance and graduation
- Monthly Allowance : 800,000 KRW per month
- Korean Language Training : 6-month intensive language training before entrance
- Tuitions : Full coverage(regular semesters only)
- Settlement Allowance : 200,000 KRW for first entry to Korea
- Graduation Thesis Allowance : Upto 1,000,000 KRW
- Korean Proficiency Grants : 100,000 KRW per month for one year
- Medical Insurance : Korea’s National Health Insurance
Eligibility for AMA Arts Scholarship
Find below the Eligibility criteria for the AMA Arts Scholarship:
a) Nationality Requirement: only who holds citizenship of OECD DAC recipient countries both applicant and his/her parents.
b) Academic Requirement: Applicants must have completed or be expected to have completed secondary education or bachelor degree program prior to admission to K-Arts.
Note: Applicants who are expecting to graduate by 28th Feb 2024 must submit a certificate of expectant graduation when applying, and submit the official certificate of graduation (degree or diploma) to K-Arts no later than 28th Feb 2024.
c) Artistic Talent: K-Arts has a very practical and comprehensive major curriculum to raise professional artists. Therefore, applicants must meet the required skills and talents through the submission of portfolios as required by each department/major unless written as “portfolio not required”.
d) Health : All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the duration of degree programs.
e) Language Requirement : Applicants need to meet the required Korean proficiency level that each department sets when applying.

- 3 Letters of Recommendation
* References signed within 6 months as of the date of submission only are available. Recommendations from government agencies, especially ODA agencies and/or Korean Embassy, representative of public educational/ cultural institution could receive additional admission points. - Letter of Consent (Release of Information Form)
- Official High School Diploma (Certificate of prospective graduation) and Official Diploma Certificate (or Certificate of Completion/Enrolment) from previously enrolled school/university
* Translated and notarized, and either be authenticated by a Korean Consular or Apostilled. - Official High School/University Academic Transcript
*Translated and notarized, and either be authenticated by a Korean Consular or Apostilled. - A Copy of Passport
* When passport not available, a copy of valid local ID card. - Official document indicating nationality of the applicant & his/her parents
* Birth Certificate or Certificate of family registration issued by the government of the applicant’s citizenship. - Original copy for Proof of Language Proficiency
* TOPIK or its equivalent for Korean
* TOEFL, IELTS, TEPS, ect. for English, when required - Portfolio
* Print your name on each page/item of portfolio in case of missing - Certificates of relevant work experiences, award and/or other achievement (Optional)

Admission Schedule:
March 23 ~ April 2, 2023 : Online Application Submission
* Application Link will be open from March 23 and closed on April 2, midnight. All application documents need to be submitted during this period.
