1-Day in Seoul Itinerary

If you are in Seoul for one day, this 1-Day itinerary will help you to make the best of your time. We will be spending our whole day trying to explore all the famous tourist attractions and famous spots that are located at or alongside the Line 2 i.e Green Line.

Seoul Subway Line #2 is my personal favorite line for it connects a bunch of the most famous touristic spots of Seoul. And by the way, do you know, “The Line 2 loop is the second longest subway loop in the world after Beijing Subway Line 10” .

So today we will have a tour around the city using only Line #2, and we will be going in the clockwise direction. Ready?

Well, we will depart from Sindorim Station as that’s the closest station from my home 🙂 Let me know if you guys are around and we can go grab a bite 😉

9:00 AM Sindorim to Hongik University Station

On the way to Hongik University Station, you will have the best best of Seoul’s Han Rive along with the National Assembly’s building. You will see this view as you pass from Dangsan to the Hapjeong Station.

9:20 AM Arriving at Hongik University Station

Hongik University Station – the so-called Young District for it is always crowded with youngsters and you’ll always see various street performances around the year.

If you come out of exit 9, you will get to see a lot of street vendors selling souvenirs, Hangeul written caps and Hanboks. A walk of 5 mins will take you to the famous street where you will see a lot of performances.

I’d say 1 and half hour is enough to spend in Hongdae, so let’s hop on Line 2 again and go to the next destination which is the Seoul City Hall.

11:00 AM Going to Seoul City Hall Station

After 4 stations from Hongik University, you will reach one of my favorite spots. Get off at the City Hall Station and come out of exit 1 and you will be like “WAOO”. You will get to see the marvelous building of City Hall and a green ground in front of you.

Don’t forget to take photos in front of the I.SEOU.U sign. As per the Tripadvisor, it is one of the most Instagrammable places in Seoul.

12:00 PM To Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station

Let’s go back to the SUBWAY and since you also will be feeling a bit hungry, why not trying some famous Korean food at Korean Traditional Maret i.e Dongdaemun Market.

Take the line #2 again and after 3 stops, get off at the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station and come out at exit 1 or 10. Here you are, seeing one of the most beautiful buildings of Seoul – Dongdaemun Design Plaza.

After spending some time around here and playing the piano for free, walk towards the traditional market to have your lunch.

3:00 PM Going to Jamsil Station

Now it’s time to see one of the tallest buildings of the world i.e Lotte World Tower.

Take Line 2 from Dongdaemun History and Culture Park and will arrive at Jamsil Station around 3:30 PM.
Take exit #1 and you are in front of Korea’s tallest building and world’s 4th tallest standing structure.

In case, you didn’t have your lunch yet, you can still try Indian/Pakistani cuisine here and I promise you won’t regret it. There is a famous restaurant called Agra inside the Lotte World Mall, and you can have your lunch there and enjoy the beautiful view of the city.

5:00 PM Jamsil Station to Samseong Station

Our second last stop of Line #2 i.e Seoul’s Green Line tour is Samseong Station. Let’s go and see the biggest LED display that the world is talking about. Get off at the Samseong Station (Exit 6) to watch the beautiful display of 3D waves.

Apart from seeing this mesmerizing show, there are 2 other must things to do here. COEX Aquarium and the Starfield Library.

Since we can’t see the Aquarium due to the shortage of time, let’s just go a library that you haven’t seen ever before. This library has been named as one of the most visited touristic spots of Seoul.

Starfield Library in CoexMall, Seoul should definitely be on your bucket list  while you are in #Korea ?
Apart from being a public library in the middle of a shopping mall, you will be shocked to know that the library has no physical boundaries! You can come, read, sit, talk, (sleep) and just roam around and go without paying even a single penny.

I would highly recommend visiting the place especially during the day time so that you can also enjoy other nearby attractions!

7:00 PM Samseong Station to Gangnam Station

Your trip would be incomplete without going to Gangnam and taking pictures at the famous “Ganganam Style” sign. So let’s take the subway Line #2 again and get off at Gangnam Station Take exit 4 and here you are at the famous sign that attracts thousands of tourists around the globe.

There are tons of other things to do in Gangnam too and if you like clubbing, this area is the mecca of clubs and bars. Well, depending on your taste, you can either spend more time here or hop on the subway and go back to your home and have dinner at your home 🙂

But if you still have time, don’t forget to visit Seoul Football Faentasium. You can even check out this guide on Korea’s top 3 traditional markets in Seoul.

So let’s take the subway again and come back to Sindorim 🙂

So guys, how was it spending one day in Seoul with me? Wasn’t it fun exploring so many places and that too while using just one Subway line out of the 18 lines 🙂

Do let me know what was your favorite place and if I have missed any spot.
